Word Work: This week we will continue to work with vowel teams to help us read and spell words. Today we will review the OA and OE vowel teams and learn words that are spelled with the OW vowel team. Practice reading and spelling these vowel team words. Try to write one telling, one asking, and one exciting sentence using your red words this week too.
OA Vowel Team Words: soap coat road soak toad
OE Vowel Team Words: tiptoe goes doe
OW Vowel Team Words: show bow throw grow
Red Words: about don't pretty
Reading: Today we will continue reading Judy Moody Mood Martian. Today when we read we will review the clues Judy gave us about backwards day. We will make a new prediction and discuss why Judy Moody would want to be like Jessica Finch. When we finish reading today, make a prediction in your book and color in an April Reading Raindrop!
Math: Today we will start Topic 11 in our math series. We will work together in your math workbook and complete pages 612 and 614 together. Please complete page 613 on your own. Tomorrow we will check over your answers together.
Writing: In honor of Earth Day you will write about what you can do to help the Earth. Before you begin your writing please watch the video Hooray for Earth Day!
When you do your writing you can be creative as you like. You can write a story, a couple of sentences, a list, a poem, or even draw and label a poster about what you can do to help the Earth. I can't wait to hear all of your great ideas!
Science: Today is Earth Day! Please watch the BrainPop Jr. movie of the week. Please take the quiz after and talk about ways you can help the Earth! Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
